This municipality includes 1,500 rural homes inhabited by Qom and Creole families. Within the framework of this project, the quasi-elimination of the kissing bug (Triatoma infestan), the vector of Chagas disease, and the interruption of transmission have been chieved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">A current challenge is how to control insecticide- resistant kissing bugs in this and other eighboring municipalities.
