Yann Guardincerri Space

Yann Guardincerri (1982–2017) was a physicist and researcher in high-energy physics. He graduated and earned his doctorate from the Physics Department at the University of Buenos Aires, where he worked on the Pierre Auger experiment, before undertaking postdoctoral studies at Fermilab (USA). During his time at the Faculty, he actively participated in academic and institutional life and planned to return to Argentina to continue his career at the public university. The Yann Guardincerri Space, located in Pavilion 1 of the University Campus, is an initiative designed to provide modern infrastructure—laboratories, offices, and coworking spaces—for students and researchers in the UBA Physics Department, in line with the type of academic space Yann envisioned and needed to carry out his work.

We invite you to join us in this project to remember and honor Yann through his deep commitment to the public university and his passion for physics. A student, researcher, and exceptional human being, Yann possessed a contagious joy and a unique personality that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. The creation of this space, which would undoubtedly have made him happy, aims to be a place of learning and encounter for new generations, in the spirit of the values that guided his life and work.
