Strengthening IAFE: Investment at the frontier of space and astrophysical knowledge

The Institute of Astronomy and Space Physics (IAFE, UBA–CONICET, www.iafe.uba.ar) is an internationally recognized center for research into the universe across various scales and our immediate space environment. The fundamental science we conduct not only expands the frontiers of knowledge but also serves as an essential driver of technological innovation and the training of professionals highly skilled in solving complex problems.

This commitment to the highest academic standards was recognized in 2025 when the Institute received the Scientific Excellence Award from the Williams Foundation. Furthermore, the IAFE generates significant social impact by bringing science closer to the community through an active public engagement agenda. Key initiatives include an ongoing colloquium series, the IAFE Press Department, the IAFE+Planetarium program, various digital platforms (social media and a YouTube channel), and other science outreach activities.

To maintain our standards of excellence within a competitive global landscape, we seek the support of companies committed to scientific advancement. Contributions will be allocated directly and transparently to:

• Technological modernization: Upgrading laboratory equipment and high-performance computing systems for data processing.
• Infrastructure: Improving and expanding research capabilities and facilities at our Ciudad Universitaria building (Buenos Aires) and at our remote observatories in Antarctica and San Juan province.
• Operational activities: Acquiring critical supplies for research, human resource training, and science outreach.

Every contribution represents a direct investment in the Argentine scientific system. We invite you to partner with the IAFE to ensure the country continues to produce cutting-edge science with global impact, train new generations of researchers, and bring science closer to our community.
